Doug Stroup
Doug was born September 4, 1964, in Atlanta, Georgia. He received Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in March of 1974 at the age of 9. In 1978, at the age of 14, Doug received the call of God on his life and began to seriously use his musical and acting abilities for the Lord. Doug attended Clayton Junior College, where he majored in Music Theater with an emphasis on vocal performance. He completed his college education at Florida Bible College with a Biblical Education major and a minor in Biblical Counseling.
He played the role of Pastor Kirkland in the PureFlix feature film, “Christmas Manger,” released in Nov 2018 and the role of Jason Solomon in episode 9 of The Dream Motel, released by PureFlix in Oct 2019. Doug is no stranger to the stage and screen as he has appeared on many television and radio shows as well as in movies and live theater since 1978. He has played leading roles in plays such as “Cabaret”; “Oliver”; “Who is This Man”; “In the Fullness of Time”; “Papa’s Angels”; “Holding Heaven”; and “Sanders Family Christmas” to name a few. Doug is the COO of CAPS- Camy Arnett Production Studios, a faith-based, family-friendly film production company. He is the host of a TV series called “Issues and Answers for Today,” where they provide Bible answers for today’s tough questions. He also writes and produces short films which target our young students and lets them know what the Bible has to say about the issues they deal with. He also Directed a pro-life feature film called “My Name is Melissa” as well as an award-winning short film called “Trafficked.” Doug believes film is a powerful avenue to reach the viewers with the truth of God’s Word. His heartbeat is to use filmmaking as a tool for sharing the message of Jesus Christ and to make the viewers think about where they stand concerning the subject of his films.
Doug and his wife, Amy, currently reside on a small farm in Musella, GA, with two of their seven children.
